The Secret to Making $100,000 per year as a Stylist!

This is Robin Demarchi's famous $100,00.00 per year poster and her secret formula. 

Alright, let’s break this down real simple, like we’re just talking numbers with a pencil and paper. This board is showing how to figure out what you should charge per hour so you can hit your yearly money goal. 

Step 1: Pick your money goal

Say you want to make $100,000 in one year. That’s your target.

Step 2: Decide how many weeks you want to work

Maybe you don’t want to work all 52 weeks (because holidays, vacation, etc.).
So let’s say you work 50 weeks in a year.

Now divide:
$100,000 ÷ 50 weeks = $2,000 each week

So you must bring in $2,000 every week.

Step 3: Decide how many days you’ll work in a week

Let’s say you want to work 4 days a week.

$2,000 ÷ 4 days = $500 per day

So you must bring in $500 every day you work.

Step 4: Decide how many hours in a day

If you work 9 hours a day:

$500 ÷ 9 hours ≈ $55 per hour

That’s how much your time is worth.

Step 5: Price each service by how long it takes

  • If a haircut takes 1 hour, charge about $55.

  • If highlights take 2 hours, charge about $110.

  • If a men’s cut takes 30 minutes, charge about $27–$30.

That way, every service is priced so you hit your hourly rate.

👉 So the formula is:
Yearly goal ÷ Weeks worked ÷ Days per week ÷ Hours per day = Hourly rate.
Then multiply your hourly rate by the time it takes for each service to set your prices.
