Tomeka understands the importance of todays youth and makes a special effort to touch their lives by encouraging them to believe in themselves and expose them to the unlimited possibilities the world has to offer. She shares her life experiences with others and enlightens on how she has become the woman she is today. Tomeka J. is the owner of Tomekas Beauty (a hair replacement /styling center in Maplewood, NJ)---The President /Founder of the Stylist and Salon Owners Network (SSON) which is an organization that empowers salon owners and stylist to go beyond the norm. This network focuses on bringing all aspects of the beauty industry together. She is the creator of the DSW the Detachable Sewn Weave, The Mekani weaving technique, Roll-N-Sew and the Wig molding process. Tomeka is an Educator at Dudleys DCU and a renowned platform artist making appearances at most of the countries major beauty shows. Tomeka has been featured in Salon Sense Magazine as Professional of the Month. Her techniques have graced the pages of many other publications such as Style Q, Hair Gallery and more. Tomeka is one of the most sought after stylist in the industry. Her ground- breaking style continues to be requested by celebrities and models for both TV and photo shoots. Tomeka J. shares her creativity with the world in a variety of platforms including her extensive step by step line of Instructional DVDs featuring wig making, weaving, cuts and more. Her CD collection will provide practical principles on 9 strategies for instants success, building a high performance team and how to hire an assistant. She also has created a salon forms manual which contains step by step forms that are a necessity for every salon. The MEKA line of products consists of weaving tools and beauty supplies.
