Micheline Barber is the proud owner of M Salon 1. She has worked in the beauty industry for over twenty years, by embarking upon her career as a stylist by attending Dudley’s Cosmetology University in Greensboro, NC. To perfect her craft, she furthered her studies at KARG, Vidal Sassoon, and numerous educational workshops throughout the united states.
As the Master Stylist and Creative Director of M Salon 1, she keeps her clients and stylists current with the latest colors, techniques and hairstyles. She does this through the scheduling of classes, workshops and trade shows for the designers to attend. Micheline also imparts the qualities of perseverance, humility, quality service and a strong work ethic to her team; which she is building through apprenticeship.
As senior beauty coordinator with MPACT BEAUTY , Micheline trains licensed cosmetologists and salons about the latest cutting and coloring techniques. Her training takes her throughout the southeastern portion of the United States as far south as Florida, Georgia and up to the Baltimore, D.C. area nationally. She has taught at international venues such as Brazil and Martinique. Micheline has also been featured in local and national news publications such as, Black Hair Sophisticate and Modern Salon and well as Universal Salon Magazine.
Micheline’s dedication and determination do not stop at M Salon 1, as she extends her time, service, and commitment to empower others throughout the community. Some affiliates include, but are not limited to: Alpha House (Teen Pregnancy) and Metropolitan Ministries (Homelessness). She also encourages students to seek knowledge and inspiration relevant to cosmetology by speaking at local high schools. Micheline stands firmly behind her personal and professional motto: “The seed you plant is always the one that will grow. “Plant it, love it, water it, and watch it grow.”Anyone seeking an example of lifelong learning, selfless service, infinite ambition, and unlimited creativity can look to Micheline Barber as example. Micheline is also the executive coordinator of Mane Stream Hair And Beauty Expo where she overseas day to day operations.
Other accomplishments that she and the stylists at M Salon 1 have received include the Steve Harvey “Hoodie Award” for Best Beauty Salon for three consecutive years and have been featured on “Split Ends”, a Bravo’s reality TV series.
